Kieron Donoghue (UkOffer on affiliates4u) has come up with a great stratergy to get some links in for his online bingo site http://www.bingo.org.uk/
He is asking webmasters and bloggers to review his site and offering a fantastic prize for the review he feels is the best.
The prize on offer is a Sony Ericsson P900i smartphone worth £350! Not to be sniffed at when all Kieron is asking is a 200 word review.
The catch - there isn’t really one, the reviewer just needs to drop in 2 or more bingo related keyword anchored links and bobs your uncle.
Just so you wonder, yes this blog post does fill the requirements for the competition (full details on Kieron’s Blog) but this post is more a review of the technique involved. At the end of the day if he gets 50 - 100 reviews as he hopes that is an awful load of link love going his way. It is also a darn sight cheeper than buying the text links of Text Link Ads or a similar service. Indeed it averages out at about £3 per link which really isn’t bad.
I am always on the look out for great link building ideas - though I doubt I will following this with getting people to blog about any of my sites with the promise of winning Mummy Theme Park

As mentioned on AffiliateDogma a while ago, cleverat are a new affiliate network. They have just launched their full service after a very sucessfull ’soft launch’ with TheRaffleClub they now announce their new website and affiliate interface.
Cleverat a new high quality CPA and CPL Network has recently launched in the
UK, headed up by Murray Newlands. Based in
London, Cleverat already has a highly experienced team, bringing a range of additional complementary services to its strong CPA Network.Murray Newlands is the Vice President & General Manager of Cleverat, joining it from PrimeQ where he was the Vice President of Sales; managing international Affiliate Network, Lead Generation and Email Marketing divisions. During his time there he very quickly developed the company from a comparative unknown outside of the
United States to a major international media company. “It is very exciting to be instrumental in the set up and running of such a high quality new Network. Along with my experienced team I am very committed to growing Cleverat and developing it into the
UK’s leading Network” said Newlands. There are a raft of Networks appearing at the moment, all aiming to take advantage of the focus many businesses are placing on the Internet with their media spend, however Cleverat is different to the rest. It already has a very strong team, who are veterans in the industry. The team’s mixture of agency and in house experience ensures both affiliates and advertisers are given the service they need in order to make the most of all available opportunities.Cleverat offers advertisers instant access to a wide range of affiliates who deliver the quality and quantity of traffic they require to generate sales. For affiliates there is a reliable and quick payment mechanism. Both parties benefit from the latest management platform, developed in-house to meet Cleverat’s exacting requirements, which gives excellent tracking facilities. The platform is currently on its first release, with the second in late stages of development; new tools within this platform will give even higher levels of visibility of tracking. In addition to the excellent CPA and CPL services Cleverat delivers a full online media service, complete with highly targeted email campaigns.Paul Moore - Chairman and Managing Director a hugely successful entrepreneur and has founded and developed a number of businesses over the years, involved in both offline and online marketing. Paul founded the country’s largest independent cruise holiday retailer, which in seven years grew from a raw start-up to a powerful business controlling some 15% of the growing and lucrative British cruise market. The company won over 50 major awards including the ‘Online Travel Retailer of the Year 2005’.Cleverat already has some strong partners on board with the team. “When choosing which affiliate network to use, two elements are key, the ease of use of the interface and the quality of network support”, said Keith Budden, Managing Director of E-Business Assist UK Ltd. “With Murray Newlands at the helm, the quality of network support from Cleverat is never in doubt - as for the interface - it is one of the easiest to use of the current networks. The
UK affiliate space is becoming crowded with established players and new entrants, and so is a noisy place to make a presence - so to succeed any new network must bring something unique to the table - there is only one chance to make a first impression, and that first impression of Cleverat is that it has that ’something’
We have no hesitation in adding Cleverat programmes to our portfolio.”Cleverat is a company to watch out for and advertisers and affiliates need to join the network now. The Affiliate Forum (for the UK atleast) Affiliates4u have just announced another add on to their ever expanding community
From Matt Wood:
The affiliates4u.com user reputation system provides a way of rating users based on the quality of their posts. Users on the forum can add or subtract reputation points from other users by clicking the reputation link in their posts.
The reputation platform allows users in the community to tell us and other members which users post in a quality, constructive and thought provoking manner, and likewise which members you should perhaps take less seriously.
You will see when you post two new images, firsty a green dot’ the more dots you have the greater your reputation as deemed by the community.
- Click to give / subtract reputation
- The more dots you have, the greater your reputation
To give another member ‘reputation points’ click the scales icon which can be seen on the top right of each individual post - you can also use the same button to detract reputation points from that member.
This is really a needed requirement - as there are alot of people on this forum now (over 15 thousand) only a couple of dozen of which are really worth listening to

An interesting article from GreasyPalm: (Tabulated data at bottom of post)

Online visitors delivered by reward-based loyalty websites are more valuable to retailers than standard traffic according to recent research.
The research, undertaken by the UK’s largest cashback website GreasyPalm.co.uk, took data from affiliate networks, advertising agencies and retailers direct to analyse the key performance indicators of their incentivised visitors versus non incentivised traffic.
Incentivised visitors were seen to have a much greater propensity to buy than that of their non-incentivised counterparts. Earnings per click* across a variety of brand name retailers was shown to be far increased with Dorothy Perkins seeing a 183% uplift and Comet seeing a 309% uplift.
The strongest evidence for increases in propensity to buy was in the area of online insurance. A leading car insurance brand saw a 512% increase in EPC, GreasyPalm’s incentivised traffic performing at £5.32 per click compared to the average visitor being worth £1.04 per click.
Further beneficial effects of incentivised traffic were demonstrated when looking at data for the average order values across a range of retailers. A well-known High Street clothing retailer shows an average order value of £105.12, compared to £118.16 for GreasyPalm’s incentivised traffic. Similar uplifts in average order value were seen by other well-known websites including a chocolate retailer whose average order values for incentivised traffic show an uplift of 30%.
Marketing Director of GreasyPalm, Neil Durrant comments, “The results of our research show that websites like GreasyPalm direct high value traffic to online retailers and, as such, are an integral part of the marketing mix. Retailers working in conjunction with reward sites tap into loyal and motivated shoppers benefiting immensely from their association.”
“The quality of incentivised traffic is unsurpassed, which explains the growth in the online rewards sector since we started with the UK’s first cashback site in 2003. This growth has caught the attention of traditional media owners for whom we are now building white label solutions. They too can now take advantage of online shopping and the exceptional member value delivered by highly motivated shoppers.”
No doubt this is a very nice piece of news for reward sites, strengthening their position as a keystone of internet marketing.
Though I personally will not be dropping everything to set up a reward site, competition is fierce and like most big ideas the guys that got there first are doing the best (though there is always occasional success from companys who have a different spin on the idea).
So some food for thought there.
